A total of 180 physical education teachers from across the province completed training sessions on disability and inclusion, according to a March 26 announcement by the Ministry of Education. The sessions, titled “Disability and Physical Education: Detection and Intervention Strategies,” were held at the Casa de la Cultura in San Pedro.
The initiative aimed to strengthen teaching practices by providing concrete tools for supporting students with disabilities. Organizers said the sessions promoted spaces for exchange, reflection, and debate among educators.
The training was led by Minister Daniela Teseira and focused on increasing knowledge about current national and provincial regulations. Organizers said this focus is key to consolidating respectful practices that ensure comprehensive development for students with disabilities.
The event was organized by the Department of Sports and Physical Education within the Directorate of Student Welfare, which is part of the Secretariat of Socio-Educational Policies. Coordinators Agustina Lemetre and MarÃa Fernanda Ten from Salta’s Ministry of Education, Culture, Science, and Technology also participated in the event.
Nancy Edhit Chiliguay, head of the Secretariat of Socio-Educational Policies, along with Gilda Laura Alberti from the Department of Sports and Physical Education, said it is important to maintain ongoing professional development as part of a ministerial commitment to inclusive, equitable, and quality education.
