The Minister of Human Development, Marta Russo Arriola, met with the mayor of Abra Pampa, Ariel Machaca, and officials from the Secretariat for Children, Adolescents and Family on March 29 to coordinate a joint work agenda focused on guaranteeing the rights of children and adolescents in the city.

This meeting is important as it aims to strengthen cooperation between provincial authorities and local governments to ensure that public resources reach those who need them most. The initiative seeks to make child protection policies more effective across all regions.

“Our priority is to strengthen the presence of the State in every corner of the province, working side by side with municipalities so that resources reach directly those who need them most,” said Russo Arriola. She added, “Coordination with municipalities allows us to territorialize public policies, ensuring that protection of our children’s and adolescents’ rights becomes an effective reality throughout all four regions.”

Mayor Machaca described the meeting as “very positive and fruitful, with good predisposition from authorities.” He said this collaboration is essential because it enables joint work between his municipality, the Secretariat, and the Ministry of Human Development. This approach helps channel existing programs and guidelines while adapting them to local needs.

During their discussion, participants addressed various issues related not only to childhood but also adolescence, youth, older adults, people with disabilities, and entrepreneurs. The meeting was also attended by Marta Iriarte (Secretary for Children), Mariela Gloss (Director), and Delia Alancay (Coordinator for Rights Protection Offices).

By coordinating efforts at both provincial and municipal levels through these meetings, officials hope to improve access to social programs tailored for vulnerable groups.
