The Asociación Amigos del Animal Jujuy called for urgent community support on Apr. 12 to maintain the care of more than 200 dogs currently housed at its shelter.
The organization, through daily updates by spokesperson Brenda Córdoba on social media, shows the ongoing work involved in rescuing injured or abandoned animals and providing their recovery and care. Córdoba said that the economic situation is making it increasingly difficult each month to cover basic expenses, especially food for the animals.
To address these challenges, the group is asking residents of Jujuy for help with monetary contributions or donations of dog food and supplies. Many of the rescued dogs arrive in critical condition, so there is also a need for medical supplies such as gauze, disinfectants, and first aid items.
“Todo esto implica gastos, tiempo, esfuerzo y un trabajo enorme que muchas veces no se ve,” said members of the organization about their sustained efforts in animal protection over several years.
Those wishing to contribute can do so through local bank aliases under Ana LĆa Quispe or Brenda Córdoba. International donations are accepted via PayPal at Asociacionamigosdelanimal_jujuy@yahoo or https://www.paypal.me/Animal735. The association also encourages people who cannot make financial contributions to help by sharing their initiative on social media.
