A Flybondi aircraft was evacuated at Dr. Horacio Guzmán International Airport after a bomb threat on April 9, according to reports from the scene. More than 70 passengers were removed from the plane, which was preparing to depart for Buenos Aires.
The incident led to an emergency response involving the Airport Security Police, firefighters, and emergency medical services. Passengers said that the situation began when a man on board reportedly mentioned the word “bomb,” prompting immediate notification of air traffic control and activation of security protocols.
One passenger stated, “A person said the word bomb and that activated everything. He is detained; they took us all off.” The individual who allegedly made the statement has been detained by authorities while inspections are ongoing.
As part of safety measures, police temporarily closed National Route 66 near access to the airport terminal to allow specialized teams to conduct their work. Drivers in the area have been advised to reduce speed, maintain braking distance, follow road signage strictly, and comply with instructions from traffic personnel present at the site.
Specialized staff continue inspecting both the aircraft and luggage as they determine whether there is any real threat. Air traffic remains suspended during these operations.
