Braskem announced it will participate in Pharmapack Europe on January 21 and 22, 2026, in Paris. The company plans to showcase solutions for healthcare packaging at the event, including its new Medcol VV7040 grade. This low-density polyethylene (LDPE) is designed specifically for blow-fill seal processes and meets pharmaceutical regulations.
The I’m greenTM bio-based LDPE targets the healthcare and hygiene sector by offering characteristics such as flowability, high stiffness, and temperature resistance. It is produced from renewable feedstock that is scalable and recyclable. According to Braskem, this material has a negative carbon footprint of -2.27 kgCO2e per kilogram.
On January 21, Camila Pilatti, Technical Service & Development for Europe and Asia, and Tim Wagler, I’m greenTM bio-based commercial leader for Europe, will discuss the benefits of I’m greenTM bio-based solutions at the Sustainability Theater. They will also address questions from attendees.
Tim Wagler stated: “The healthcare segment is one area that is committed to contributing to mitigate the effects of climate change. Plastic is an essential material that cannot be easily substituted. I’m greenTMÂ bio-based and Medcol offer an alternative that delivers the required performance paired with lower environmental impact – a smaller carbon footprint while being available for mass production.”
Braskem has developed and expanded its I’m greenTM bio-based polymer solutions made from plants over the past 15 years. The company’s current production capacity stands at 275,000 tons per year—a 37% increase since its inception—which enables capturing about 159,000 tons of CO² annually. The portfolio includes grades used in packaging, toys, and footwear.
Pharmapack Europe focuses on pharmaceutical packaging, drug delivery systems, medical devices, and machinery. Braskem will be present at Paris Expo Porte de Versailles in Hall 4 Booth 111 during the event.
Braskem employs nearly 9,000 people globally with operations in Brazil, the United States, Mexico, and Germany.
