Tieto has implemented a new cloud-based customer information and billing system (CIS) for Cactos Energia, an energy company that manufactures electricity storage systems and sells electricity to its customers. The CIS solution is designed to automate and digitalize contract, billing, and customer service processes for electricity retailers.

Oskari Jaakkola, CEO of Cactos Energia Oy, said: “We needed an advanced billing and customer management system to support our new electricity sales business, one that enables efficient monthly billing and revenue sharing for our extensive customer base. Tieto has proven to be a knowledgeable supplier, and we are pleased with the results.”

The browser-based CIS runs on Microsoft Azure and is delivered by Tieto. It features comprehensive API interfaces, enabling streamlined business processes at lower operating costs. Automation within the system also reduces the workload on customer service teams.

Jarmo Roiha, Head of Customer Information Solutions, Energy & Utilities at Tieto Indtech, stated: “We thank Cactos Energia for their trust and commitment to a collaboration that has begun exceptionally well. We want to support Cactos’s growth in the electricity retail market. With the flexible and versatile product model of our CIS solution, we are able to support our customer’s advanced electricity sales product. This means that the production of the customer’s batteries in the reserve market can be credited on the invoice, at quarter-hour granularity.”

Tieto provides software and digital engineering services globally through its specialized businesses including Tieto Caretech, Tieto Banktech, Tieto Indtech, and TietoTech Consulting. The company employs around 15,000 experts across various technology fields. Its annual revenue is about EUR 2 billion and it is listed on stock exchanges in Helsinki, Stockholm, and Oslo.

Cactos focuses on supplying electricity storage systems made in Finland for industrial use and grid needs while selling electricity via Cactos Energia. The company supports efficient energy use and aims to help accelerate the energy transition in Europe.
