The Colegio Secundario de Artes No. 30 in Casira, Santa Catalina, hosted the second International Meeting of Ceramicists under the theme “The Art of Fire, Bearer of Identity and Growth.” The event aimed to strengthen students’ academic training and enhance pedagogical practices in the arts.
Held from October 15 to 17, the meeting brought together 26 ceramicists from Peru, Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, and Argentina. Participants exchanged knowledge on production techniques, ceramic materials, construction of temporary kilns, and maintenance of electric kilns. The gathering promoted both cultural and professional exchange among attendees.
Students from fourth and fifth year led workshops and demonstrations on traditional ceramic forming and firing methods. These activities showcased their acquired skills while highlighting local ceramic traditions.
School administrators presented institutional projects developed in collaboration with the educational community, local organizations, and government agencies. These initiatives emphasized a commitment to cultural identity and quality arts education.
The event was attended by Region I supervisor Miguel Liquin as well as teachers, artisans, and students from various parts of Jujuy province and Piscuno (Bolivia). Attendees praised both the quality of the workshops and the hospitality received.
