MatÃas Clapier and Federico Stieglitz, both from Jujuy, are competing this weekend in the third round of the Turismo Pista series held in Concordia, Entre RÃos. Clapier leads the championship standings in Class 2 by seven points going into this event, while Stieglitz enters as the fifth-ranked driver in Class 3.
The competition is significant for motorsport fans from Jujuy, as both drivers aim to achieve strong results and represent their province on a national stage. Their performances will be closely watched during qualifying sessions and final races.
Clapier started Friday’s practice with optimism after finishing fourth but faced difficulties when his car’s engine broke during qualifying. “We had an excellent tool, but now it will be difficult with the engine change and the 40 kilos of ballast,” Clapier said. Despite these challenges, he remains determined to defend his position at the top of the standings.
Stieglitz has a special connection to Concordia’s circuit; he previously won there in 2024. He began Saturday’s free practice sessions focused and prepared after training with simulators to adapt quickly to the track.
Qualifying for Class 3 and heats for Classes 1 and 2 are scheduled for Saturday afternoon at 3 p.m., while Sunday will feature finals broadcast live on Canal 9 starting at 10 a.m. The results will determine if Clapier can maintain his lead or if Stieglitz can repeat his previous success at this venue.
