Colegio Nuestra Señora del Huerto announced on Apr. 7 that it will hold its student representative election for 2026 on Friday, April 17. More than 50 young women are expected to participate in the event, with one being selected to succeed Luisana Bazzi as the new representative.

The election marks the beginning of the school’s participation in this year’s Fiesta Nacional de los Estudiantes, which will celebrate its 75th edition from September 16 to September 26. The event is known for bringing color, lights, and joy as thousands of young people gather to celebrate traditions and youth culture.

Organizers said this anniversary edition will be special as it highlights both the return of spring and a long-standing tradition that has been part of Jujuy’s cultural calendar for decades. Students and community members look forward to seeing who will represent their school during these festivities.

As elections begin across various schools participating in the Fiesta Nacional de los Estudiantes (FNE), there is growing concern about negative comments posted on social media platforms regarding participants. Somos Jujuy urges greater awareness about online conduct during these events, especially when directed at minors involved in school activities.

“We want this to continue being ‘the beautiful festival of youth’ and stop tarnishing students’ experiences with unpleasant comments,” organizers said.
