Local community centers and neighborhood institutions will host a series of cultural and religious activities this weekend as part of Holy Week celebrations, according to an April 2 announcement. The events include an exhibition of ermitas—decorative shrines—across various locations in the city.
On Friday, April 3, residents attending the traditional Via Crucis procession to Cerro de la Cruz will be able to view ermitas created by local neighborhood centers. These shrines will be displayed at Colector Ruta 9 and República Dominicana in the Cerro Las Rosas neighborhood. Organizers say the initiative aims to highlight community work and expressions of faith during this period.
Activities continue on Saturday, April 4, at Hipólito Yrigoyen Plaza in Ciudad de Nieva. Starting at 5 p.m., there will be another ermita exhibition featuring works from neighborhood centers. The event also includes a string ensemble performing baroque music in collaboration with Fundación Música con Alas, offering a space for cultural engagement open to all residents.
In Alto Comedero, events are planned around the living Via Crucis “Caminando con Cristo hacia la Cruz” on Friday, April 3. The program begins with the Novena to Divine Mercy at Ceferino Namuncurá Chapel at 2 p.m., followed by a gathering at Multiespacio “El Alto” at 5 p.m., leading into adoration of the Cross at 5:30 p.m. Ermitas crafted by local institutions will be displayed along the procession route as part of these activities.
These initiatives are intended to strengthen community bonds through shared traditions and public displays of faith during Holy Week.
