The ministers of Education, Daniela Teseira, and Health, José Manzur, met with their technical teams to strengthen cooperation between their ministries on school health initiatives. The meeting focused on creating a shared agenda to promote health prevention and wellness in schools and ensure timely responses to any health situations that may arise within educational institutions.
Officials discussed the possibility of having healthcare agents present in schools to provide technical support and direct care when needed. They also considered implementing protocols to enable efficient and prompt action in response to emerging health issues.
The group addressed the need for training programs for Education Ministry staff, aiming to equip them with skills for handling basic health situations and preventive care. This initiative is part of a broader policy intended to protect both students and teachers by fostering a proactive approach to school health.
At the end of the meeting, Minister Manzur stated: “It was a very positive moment where joint actions are being coordinated, both in Education and Health, emphasizing prevention and responding promptly to needs that may arise in schools,” highlighting the commitment of both ministries to deepen institutional cooperation.
