The Ministry of Education held an informational session on Apr. 6 for primary and secondary school leadership teams in the Capital, focusing on ceremonial and protocol practices related to national symbols and the organization of school events.
The initiative, organized by the Ministry’s Ceremonial and Protocol area, aimed to establish common criteria for applying current rules and procedures at both national and provincial levels. The session addressed how protocol sets out rules while ceremonial defines their application during educational events.
Participants discussed the importance of etiquette as a way to bring solemnity and courtesy to school activities, reinforcing their symbolic value. The event also encouraged each institution to appoint a person responsible for ceremonial matters who will coordinate directly with the relevant department to ensure unified standards at all events.
Minister of Education Daniela Teseira attended the session and spoke about “the commitment of teaching teams and principals in students’ comprehensive education,” emphasizing that every school ceremony is also a significant learning opportunity.
This training comes ahead of upcoming commemorative dates in the academic calendar, including April 19 and August 23, with the goal of ensuring proper observance across all educational institutions.
