The Ministry of Education, through the Secretariat of Educational Infrastructure, is conducting a large-scale operation to clear weeds, clean, and maintain school facilities across all regions of the province. The initiative aims to provide safe and clean environments for students and teachers.
Work began in December 2025 and has intensified during the school break, a period identified as key for making progress without disrupting daily activities at educational institutions.
The operation uses various working methods to expand its reach and optimize resources. Operational Units are involved in 123 schools; agreements with municipalities extend work to 162 institutions; and specific contracts with cooperatives cover another 142 school buildings. This decentralized strategy is designed not only to speed up execution but also to strengthen coordination with local governments and community organizations.
Interventions include weed removal, comprehensive cleaning of grounds, water tank and drain cleaning, as well as electrical and sanitary work among other essential actions.
