The Ministry of Education announced on March 30 that it has taken concrete steps to address concerns at the Rural Secondary School No. 2, located in Las Escaleras. Representatives from the ministry met with school administrators, teachers, and parents to discuss issues and provide effective responses.
This meeting was attended by Silvia Jerez, Director of Secondary Education; Julieta Yamin, Director of Comprehensive Educational Support; Fabiana Cisneros, Head of Special Education Modality; and Marcela Pacheco, Supervisor of Secondary Level, along with their technical teams.
Following the discussions, an official record was signed reaffirming a commitment to coordinate with the transportation department to regularize student travel subsidies. The goal is to ensure students have access to education and can continue attending school without obstacles.
Additionally, specific actions were decided upon for three students whose registered addresses did not match those on their national identification documents. Steps will be taken to update their information and relocate one student back to their home neighborhood in Alto Comedero so they can continue their educational journey.
These measures reflect ongoing efforts by the Ministry of Education to respond directly to community needs and support students’ continued learning.
