The third edition of the “El Saber Ilumina” contest concluded with an award ceremony held at the Salón Éxodo del Cabildo on Friday. The event aims to promote energy efficiency among educational institutions.

Miriam Serrano, Minister of Education, and Carlos Stanic, Minister of Infrastructure, Public Services, Land and Housing, led the ceremony. They were joined by Mario Pizzaro, Secretary of Energy, and María Agustina Otaola, Provincial Director of Energy.

More than 100 educational institutions participated in this year’s contest. The initiative seeks to foster learning and commitment toward environmental care through responsible energy use.

Minister Miriam Serrano highlighted the role of children and young people in spreading awareness about energy conservation. “Our children teach us with their projects, with their creativity. They are the ones who show us how we can change our habits. Let’s continue taking care of energy and being part of this transformation that starts in classrooms, where good things always happen,” said Serrano.

Mario Pizzaro also commented on the significance of the students’ work: “It is gratifying to see the tasks carried out by our boys and girls who understand the importance of saving energy. This is the way to raise awareness and change habits.”

Awards were given in two categories: lowest consumption and best action plan. In the lowest consumption category for initial level education, Colegio del Salvador from San Salvador de Jujuy was recognized. For primary level, Colegio San Agustín from San Pedro, Escuela Nº443 “Dr. Roberto Domínguez” from San Pedro, and Escuela N°407 “Prof. Pablo Arroyo” from San Salvador de Jujuy received awards.

In the best action plan category for initial level education, J.I. Nº9 from San Salvador de Jujuy was honored. For primary level schools recognized included Escuela N°6 “Dr. Joaquín Carrillo” from El Carmen; Escuela N° 463 “Padre Jesús Olmedo” from La Quiaca; and Escuela Nº113 “Antártida Argentina” also from La Quiaca.
