Felipe Balderrama, a karting driver from Jujuy, is set to compete in the third round of the Rotax championship, according to an April 2 announcement. After experiencing pain in one of his ribs, Balderrama paused his usual training routine and worked with a physiotherapist to recover ahead of this event.
This race presents new challenges for Balderrama as he adapts not only to the sport but also to a circuit layout he has never raced before. The track will run counterclockwise, different from previous rounds. In the last competition held in Baradero, Balderrama finished in 25th place and said he felt positive about his performance.
“We are going with a lot of enthusiasm, always grateful to my Dad and Mom who are the driving force behind my participation,” said Felipe Balderrama. “I am also thankful for the team WK Lenzo Racing Kart; both Eduardo and Bruno Viglietti put in a lot of effort. For this date we hope to be better positioned. I am going with my coach Juan Fucho so we are finalizing details for this date and aiming to do our best.”
Currently ranked 35th in the Senior Max championship standings, Balderrama is optimistic about improving his position after what he described as a good outing at Baradero. He aims not only to match but surpass that result.
The schedule begins Thursday with practice sessions as Balderrama continues adapting to the circuit. Official category practice and qualifying will take place on Friday, April 3rd; qualifying heats follow on Saturday; while Sunday features both the final heat and main race with 42 karts expected on track. The event will be broadcast live via YouTube and Fox Sports 3.
