Gimnasia y Esgrima de Jujuy defeated Patronato on April 5 in the eighth round of Zone B of the Primera Nacional. The match took place at the 23 de Agosto stadium, where Gimnasia secured a win with goals from Guillermo Cosaro in the first half and Hugo Soria near the end of the game.

With this victory, Gimnasia reached 15 points and now shares first place in Zone B with Tristán Suárez. Temperley and San Martín de Tucumán follow closely behind.

The result strengthens Gimnasia’s position as a contender for promotion. In their next match, they will face Agropecuario as visitors.

Coach Hernán Pellerano addressed both league ambitions and cup hopes, saying: “Like the fans, we know that Primera Nacional is the tournament that will give us maximum happiness; however, Copa Argentina calls to our dreams.” He also commented on their upcoming challenge: “We are about to face Belgrano de Córdoba,” adding that “for us it is an extra motivation to play against a team of that level.”

Gimnasia y Esgrima de Jujuy will meet Belgrano de Córdoba in the round of 32 of Copa Argentina at a date and venue yet to be determined.
