Gimnasia y Esgrima de Jujuy continues training ahead of its upcoming match against Patronato de Paraná, aiming to secure a home victory and maintain its lead in zone B of the Primera Nacional, according to an April 2 announcement.
The match is seen as important for both teams. Gimnasia seeks to stay at the top of the standings, while Patronato is looking for a win to improve its position and move away from relegation concerns.
Mauro Cachi, one of this year’s new signings for Gimnasia, said, “debemos imponer nuestro juego desde el primer minuto con la intensidad que nos caracteriza.”
Cachi also commented on the team’s confidence going into Sunday’s game. He said that “el equipo se siente con mucha confianza,” adding they are waiting for the match “para continuar sumando” and thus “dar un paso más para lograr el objetivo del ascenso.”
Reflecting on his own performance, Cachi said he feels better with each game: “cada vez mejor con el pasar de los partidos,” noting that he has adapted to the physical demands at Gimnasia and what is required to compete in this division.
The outcome of this fixture could have implications for both teams’ seasons as Gimnasia looks toward promotion and Patronato aims to avoid relegation.
