Gimnasia y Esgrima de Jujuy secured a 2-1 victory over Chaco For Ever as visitors on March 28, temporarily taking the lead in Zone B of the Primera Nacional tournament until the end of the seventh round.

The result is significant for Gimnasia, who now prepares for their next match with more confidence. The team managed to score at crucial moments and held off a late push from Chaco For Ever.

David Gallardo opened the scoring for Gimnasia near the end of the first half. In the second half, Ezequiel Pacheco equalized for Chaco For Ever, but almost immediately after, Delfor Minervino restored Gimnasia’s lead with what became the decisive goal. The match ended with Gimnasia defending intensely as Chaco pressed forward.

The starting lineups included Milton Álvarez in goal for Gimnasia and Nicolás Caprio for Chaco. Coaches Hernán Pellerano and Ricardo Pancaldo led their respective teams. Álvaro Carranza served as referee at Estadio Juan Alberto García.

After this win, Gimnasia returns to its province to prepare calmly for its upcoming fixture against Patronato.
