Governor Carlos Sadir met with National Interior Minister Diego Santilli on April 8 to address what he described as the main concerns currently facing Jujuy. During the meeting, Sadir said he raised issues including “the crisis of the microeconomy, with a drop in activity and loss of jobs in the private sector.”
Sadir also discussed “the sustained decline in federal revenue sharing, which means fewer key resources to support public services and works,” as well as “the deterioration of national roads due to lack of works.” The governor noted that these financial challenges are affecting the province’s ability to maintain infrastructure and provide essential services.
The two officials also reviewed legislative matters. “We addressed the national legislative agenda and the projects that will be considered in the coming months,” Sadir said about their discussion topics.
Sadir concluded by emphasizing urgency for action: “Jujuy needs urgent decisions. For this reason, through dialogue, we seek solutions that meet people’s needs,” he said.
The meeting comes at a time when provincial leaders are seeking more support from national authorities amid economic difficulties.
