Governor Carlos Sadir announced on March 31 the submission of a second mining project in Jujuy Province under the Incentives Regime for Large Investments (RIGI). The initiative comes from the company CNGR, which plans to build a production plant with an annual capacity of 22,000 tons.
The announcement highlights that the development will focus on the Salar de Jama and northern Olaroz. According to officials, CNGR has already submitted its Environmental Impact Report, which is currently undergoing technical evaluation.
Plans also include establishing a research laboratory in collaboration with Jujuy EnergÃa y MinerÃa Sociedad del Estado (Jemse), Conicet, and CNGR. This facility aims to serve as a training center for local engineers and students so that knowledge remains within the province.
“We seek to consolidate the province as a strategic player by promoting responsible investments,” Sadir said after meeting with representatives from the communities of Jama, Olaroz, and El Toro.
Sadir also met with members of CNGR and community leaders to celebrate what he described as another step forward for companies investing in Jujuy through their participation in RIGI.
