Governor Carlos Sadir held a working meeting on April 12 with mayors, municipal commissioners, and council members from the Quebrada and Puna regions in Tilcara. The session took place at the Hotel de Turismo and included Vice Governor Alberto Bernis as well as several provincial cabinet officials.
The purpose of the gathering was to strengthen direct contact between provincial authorities and local communities through a decentralized approach. According to organizers, this type of meeting has already taken place in other regions such as El Ramal and Los Valles.
Sadir said, “We came with our focus on working in the territory. The idea is to address management issues that seek to provide concrete solutions for our people.” He emphasized that these meetings allow government officials to better understand daily political challenges and urgent community needs by being present where issues arise.
More than 20 municipal representatives attended the event, presenting both progress achieved in their areas and outstanding challenges. Sadir highlighted the value of this “one-on-one” interaction with local leaders, stating it enabled the provincial executive branch to gain an accurate assessment of each locality’s situation while fostering dialogue about potential solutions. He reaffirmed his commitment to continued joint work: “Each one of the mayors and commissioners have been able to share all they are doing in their towns, but there is always more work ahead,” he said. Sadir concluded by stressing that improving residents’ quality of life remains the top priority for these regional meetings.
The initiative reflects ongoing efforts by provincial authorities to maintain close coordination with municipalities throughout Jujuy.
