Governor of Jujuy, Carlos Alberto Sadir, attended the patron saint festivities in Monterrico on May 17, joining the community to honor San Isidro Labrador. The event included a mass and a civic-military parade with participation from Vice Governor Alberto Bernis, Mayor Luciano Moreira, provincial and municipal officials, legislators, and local residents.
Sadir said he was pleased to join the community again and noted the city’s ongoing growth. “Estoy muy contento de venir a Monterrico y ver cómo progresa, cómo está cada día más lindo. Venimos trabajando mucho junto al intendente y toda la comunidad, gestionando obras y mejoras que hoy se reflejan en la calidad de vida de la gente,” Sadir said.
He also highlighted recent infrastructure projects such as paving roads, improving lighting, and developing a food promenade. According to Sadir: “son avances muy importantes para toda la comunidad.” He left a message for residents during the celebration: “lo mejor para toda la comunidad de Monterrico en la conmemoración de San Isidro Labrador,” reaffirming his commitment to continue working with local authorities for further improvements.
Vice Governor Bernis emphasized cooperation between provincial and municipal governments in implementing public policies aimed at improving quality of life. “Trabajamos junto al gobernador y los intendentes de toda la provincia para sostener un proyecto basado en la paz social y en mejorar las condiciones de vida de toda la comunidad,” Bernis said. He encouraged reflection on the meaning of these festivities: “Que San Isidro Labrador nos dé la fuerza necesaria para trabajar con humildad, transparencia y compromiso por el bien común de toda la sociedad.”
Mayor Moreira appreciated the presence of provincial authorities during the celebrations and confirmed both the civic-military parade and a school holiday for students following the event.
Other officials attending included Minister of Finance Federico Cardozo; Minister of Environment and Climate Change Leandro Álvarez; Provincial Deputy Mario Lobo; and Director of Community Relations Camilo Atim.
