Santiago del Moro announced on Apr. 8 that Gran Hermano will soon participate in a contestant exchange with the American Spanish-language reality show La Casa de los Famosos, which airs on Telemundo.
The move introduces a new dynamic for both programs, as one contestant from Gran Hermano Generación Dorada will spend several days competing on the foreign show, while a participant from La Casa de los Famosos will join the Argentine program.
On Wednesday’s episode of ‘Cortá por Lozano’ (Telefe), host Vero Lozano and her panel discussed possible candidates for the exchange. Juariu suggested Manuel Ibero and Luana Fernández as ideal choices to travel to the United States. Lozano considered Yanina Zilli to be the best option—a view supported by Evangelina Anderson who said, “Zilli es la más famosa de los que están ahÔ.
La Casa de los Famosos is described as one of the most popular Hispanic television reality shows in the United States. Its format is similar to Gran Hermano: participants live together under constant surveillance and without outside contact. The main difference is that all contestants are celebrities such as actors, singers, influencers or media personalities.
As with its Argentine counterpart, public voting determines which contestants remain in competition each week—a process that generates significant activity among fans on social media platforms.
Both shows aim to boost their audience engagement and refresh interest through this international exchange initiative.
