The Finnish electricity distribution company Haukiputaan Sähköosuuskunta has chosen Tieto’s cloud-based Network Information System (NIS) to manage its electricity network. The system will support digital management of the entire network, from planning to maintenance.
Tieto’s NIS is a browser-based platform designed for flexibility and remote access. It can be extended to include partners, allowing for improved collaboration and information sharing.
The new system aims to streamline key processes at Haukiputaan Sähköosuuskunta by automating tasks and reducing manual work. It also assists with reporting network assets to the Finnish Energy Authority.
Juha Sipola, Chief Executive Officer of Haukiputaan Sähköosuuskunta, said: “The new solution supports the development of our business and strengthens our service capability. Tieto’s expertise and commitment to the project convinced us that this is a versatile solution well suited to our needs. We are keen to participate in the further development of the system in order to stay at the forefront of competition and serve our customers even better.”
Juha Kiukas, Senior Sales Manager for Energy & Utilities at Tieto Indtech, commented: “Our warm thanks to the customer for their trust and for the excellent start to our collaboration. NIS is a continuously evolving solution, and we want to ensure that our customers’ needs are taken into account when designing future functionalities. The fully digitalized processes provide a comprehensive and up-to-date view of all ongoing projects and tasks, enabling efficient operations and decision-making.”
Tieto operates as a software and digital engineering services provider with about 15,000 employees worldwide. The company reports annual revenue of approximately EUR 2 billion, with shares listed on exchanges in Helsinki, Stockholm, and Oslo.
