Health Minister José Manzur led meetings with staff at the hospitals of Tilcara and Maimará on March 20, focusing on strengthening coordination between central health authorities and local services. The visits were part of a broader effort to improve healthcare delivery in the Quebrada region.
The initiative aims to enhance infrastructure, human resources, and patient care for the benefit of the local population. Manzur said, “We continue touring our hospitals and health facilities. In this case, with the first visits in the Quebrada, where with much of the cabinet we met with management teams and different areas to update work guidelines, learn about needs on site, and from these meetings move forward with strategic decisions in infrastructure, human resources, and community care.”
During his visit, Manzur also recognized the efforts of teams at Salvador Mazza and Miguel Ángel Miskoff hospitals. He said he valued “the very important commitment to people and health, working permanently in their communities and in the wide rural areas they serve where Jujuy’s public system provides comprehensive assistance.”
Both hospitals received new computer equipment to support digital medical records as part of ongoing modernization efforts. Manzur thanked hospital staff for their organization ahead of upcoming pilgrimages to Punta Corral.
Ximena Salinas, director of Health Management at Hospital Salvador Mazza in Tilcara, said it was valuable to “showcase our team’s work, strengths, internal actions being developed as well as institutional achievements from our administration.” She added that improvements are underway including optimizing inpatient spaces, sterilization areas, installing security cameras in various departments, and expanding storage areas.
At Maimará hospital, director Sergio Salva expressed gratitude for the minister’s visit: “Very grateful for the visit by the minister and his entire team. We were able to tour different hospital services and show advances and strengthening achieved over these years. It is also very important to continue having support from Central Level for our community.”
