The Ministry of Health announced on April 11 that it will carry out scheduled mosquito control operations in the capital city from April 13 to 17. The efforts will target specific neighborhoods identified through epidemiological surveillance and include the removal of potential breeding sites, door-to-door awareness campaigns, and health promotion activities aimed at stopping the spread of disease-carrying mosquitoes.
These interventions are supported by technical and sanitary teams working together with ongoing territorial monitoring, focused planning, and permanent epidemiological surveillance for early detection of fever cases. The ministry highlighted the active role residents play in protecting community health.
According to officials, operations will begin at 8:30 a.m. each day in different areas: Caps Eva Perón (370 Viviendas neighborhood) on April 13; Caps Victoria Cruz (30 Hectáreas sector) on April 14; APS Hospital Snopek (sector B6) on April 15; Caps René Favaloro (Tupac Amaru neighborhood) on April 16; and Caps San Francisco de Álava (homonymous neighborhood) on April 17. Teams composed of health agents and staff will coordinate fieldwork during these days.
The ministry also said that this strategy is being replicated across the province through collaboration with municipalities. The goal is to strengthen prevention against dengue, zika, and chikungunya by maintaining ongoing clean-up efforts, surveillance, and health education initiatives.
Health authorities reminded residents that community participation is crucial for eliminating containers that collect water, keeping yards clean, and allowing access for health teams.
