A new organ donation procedure was carried out at Hospital Pablo Soria in San Salvador de Jujuy, marking the 14th such operation this year in the province. The Ministry of Health reported that the most recent procedure involved the removal of ocular tissue.
The operation was made possible through coordinated efforts between hospital staff, the Centro Único Coordinador de Ablación e Implante de Jujuy (CUCAIJUY), and both provincial and national transplant networks. According to officials, each donation procedure increases opportunities for patients awaiting transplants and demonstrates both the generosity of donor families and the ongoing training of healthcare teams.
“Each operation represents a new possibility for people waiting for a transplant and reflects the solidarity of donor families, as well as the permanent preparation of health teams who intervene with professionalism and respect,” stated ministry representatives.
Jujuy has been working to strengthen its active donation network by providing information and support to residents. Officials emphasized that choosing to donate organs can change lives and expand opportunities for those in need.
