The Ministry of Health has announced the integration of Hospital San Miguel and Nodo Caimancito into the province’s Medical Imaging Portal. This move expands digital access to medical studies for both patients and healthcare professionals across public health institutions.
With this addition, the portal now holds exams from 22 public establishments throughout the province. The centralized system is designed to improve diagnosis times, report generation, and consultations by providing direct access to results from CT scans, MRIs, standard and serial X-rays, panoramic X-rays, ultrasounds, and mammograms.
Daniel Garabito, head of the Informatics Unit, stated: “The centralization of medical images in the public system, which began in March 2025, allowed for the progressive integration of hospitals in both urban and rural areas. This marks a milestone in healthcare modernization and equal access to clinical information across the entire territory.”
Garabito added: “SUPERPACS operates with a storage server housed in the provincial Data Center. This ensures high standards of security, constant availability, and backup of health information, strengthening trust and continuity of care.”
Over 232,074 study results conducted since March 2025 are now available through the portal. Facilities connected include major hospitals such as Hospital Pablo Soria and Hospital Materno Infantil as well as regional centers like Hospital Dr. Jorge Uro (La Quiaca) and Hospital Nuestra Señora del Rosario (Abra Pampa).
Future plans involve connecting additional hospitals including Presbítero Escolástico Zegada (Fraile Pintado), Nuestra Señora del Valle (Palma Sola), Nuestro Señor de la Buena Esperanza (La Esperanza), Calilegua (Calilegua), and Nuestra Señora del Pilar (El Talar), further extending provincial coverage.
Patients receive a printed QR code at their hospital or node after their study is performed. They can use this code to access digital images on their mobile phones. Studies may also be sent via WhatsApp or email. To view their full image history online at any time using various devices with internet access—thereby avoiding unnecessary travel or loss of records—patients must register at https://visorms.msaludjujuy.gov.ar/patientportal/.
SUPERPACS allows each user in the public health system to have a unified medical record while enabling healthcare teams to review images earlier. This reduces waiting times and enhances diagnostic quality. The tool supports chronic disease management, interdisciplinary care, and encourages active patient participation.
Usernames, passwords, and verification systems are required for access to ensure data confidentiality and security.
The Ministry describes these advances as part of an ongoing effort toward a modernized public health system that prioritizes accessibility and efficiency while reducing physical paperwork.
