The Instituto de Seguros de Jujuy (ISJ) has introduced a new Institutional Diabetes Program aimed at improving care for patients with diabetes. The announcement was made as part of World Diabetes Day activities.
The program focuses on patient care, ensuring regular medication supply, and updating the registry of members with diabetes. During the presentation, several topics were discussed, including updated treatment algorithms for type 2 diabetes by Dr. Luis Palazzi, insulin initiation and optimization by Dr. Natalia Sahi, carbohydrate counting by Janet Daj, and general information about Diabetes Mellitus coordinated by Dr. Marcelo Saquilan.
Sarahi Molina, Health Manager at ISJ, emphasized the importance of addressing the disease with qualified medical professionals. She stated: “We seek to provide good coverage to members with diabetes,” and highlighted the work of the team that developed the new institutional program.
Dr. Gustavo Puccioni, technical advisor to the management team, explained that a training session was held for professionals working in this field and mentioned contributions from Drs. Saquilan and Palazzi among other specialists.
Dr. Javer Cadar, another technical advisor in the area, said: “Through this program ISJ puts focus on patients with diabetes and addresses promotion, prevention, self-care and above all maintaining contact with prescribers.” He added that updates have been made to improve patient care and avoid issues related to medication provision: “Always thinking about our members so they receive quality services and avoid long-term complications from diabetes.”
The event was led by ISJ President José Manzur along with Board Members Diego Eduardo Chacón and Ezequiel Vega as well as Administrative Manager Cintia Vercellone.
