Writers, artists, and students gathered at the Centro Cultural Culturarte on November 25 and 26 for the International Writers for Peace Meeting. The event featured literary works, visual art exhibitions, and educational activities with participants from various provinces in Argentina as well as international guests.
Ana Zulema Gaspar, president of Grullas and peace ambassador for the World Peace Organization, expressed her appreciation for the support that made the event possible. “We are very happy and grateful because delegations have come from different parts of the country, such as Tucumán and Salta. Works by visual artists are also being presented and we received poems sent from Mexico, Ecuador, and France,” Gaspar said. She also highlighted the involvement of students from Escuela Municipal Marina Vilte and Escuela Monteagudo, noting that new delegations joined during the second day.
Gaspar gave special thanks to Ana Rosa Barro, director of Escuela Marina Vilte, for her commitment to education initiatives focused on peace. “Children are our future seeds and it is essential to plant this beautiful topic in them,” she stated. The event concluded with a festival at Olivo de la Paz.
Natalia Castañares, a teacher at Escuela Municipal Marina Vilte, emphasized the importance of presenting anthologies “Jóvenes Voces en Jujuy” and “Voces de Ensueño,” which include poetry and short stories written by students. “We are very grateful to receive this invitation. For the children it is very enriching to meet various writers, understand how a book is organized and edited, and share their own work. It is a beautiful experience,” Castañares said.
The meeting provided an opportunity for exchange among participants while promoting literature as a tool for unity and peace-building.
