The Instituto de Seguros de Jujuy (ISJ) has confirmed that the supply of medications to its members remains stable and uninterrupted. The organization stated that the distribution of outpatient medications through its pharmacy network across the province has not faced any disruptions.
Payments to institutions representing pharmacies are being made within the agreed timelines, according to ISJ. At the end of last year, ISJ adjusted its monthly fixed portfolio in response to requests from pharmacies.
The health insurance provider is also collaborating with pharmaceutical institutions to decentralize the delivery of test strips, diapers, and milk products via its pharmacy network. This initiative aims to improve accessibility for members.
Gustavo Poccioni, coordinator of the Health Management Area, noted improvements in operations since the Drug Bank began reporting directly to his department. “The Drug Bank, whose operation passed under this management area, ‘has significantly improved its operational capacity for the benefit of affiliates,’ providing coverage for more than 100 patients per day,” said Poccioni.
ISJ reported that it assisted over 2,928 active members in the last quarter who collected special treatments from the Drug Bank. In 2025, a total of 28,690 treatments were dispensed to 3,360 patients with serious illnesses. The expenditure on medications nearly doubled over two years.
The institution highlighted its commitment to covering high-cost and low-incidence therapies at no charge to patients. Currently, around 4,000 individuals receive such treatments—including oncology, HIV care, transplants, and biological therapies—resulting in a monthly outlay exceeding $4 billion pesos by ISJ.
