The president of Jujuy Energía y Minería Sociedad del Estado (JEMSE), Ezequiel Lello Ivacevich, recently traveled to India for a series of meetings aimed at advancing lithium and mining development in the Argentine province of Jujuy. The official mission was coordinated with the Argentine Embassy in India, led by Ambassador Mariano Caucino.
Lello Ivacevich held discussions with officials from India’s Ministry of Steel and Mines, including Minister G. Kishan Reddy. These talks focused on the growth of the mining sector, public policies related to strategic minerals, and opportunities for bilateral cooperation. Special attention was given to lithium and other critical resources important for the global energy transition.
A technical meeting also took place with representatives from Khanij Bidesh India Limited (KABIL), an Indian state-owned company that acquires and develops strategic mining assets abroad. During this session, JEMSE presented its geologically promising areas and outlined its role as a provincial state company in mining project development. The potential of lithium-related clusters was highlighted as a priority for foreign investment.
“The main goal of these efforts is to position the province as a reliable partner for attracting investments that, through sustainable mining, drive the local economy, create jobs, and provide direct benefits to the community of Jujuy,” said Lello Ivacevich.
These activities are part of a broader strategy to secure new sources of funding that will have a direct impact on Jujuy’s productive base by promoting sustainable economic growth through international partnerships.
