Deputy Santiago Jubert, president of the Jujuy Crece bloc, said on April 6 that Decree Agreement No. 5,084 aims to balance public accounts without undermining the rights of state workers.
Jubert said the measure is different from harsher adjustment processes elsewhere and emphasized, “Unlike the process of adjustment with a ruthless chainsaw, in this province there were no layoffs.”
He explained that the decree serves as a tool to redirect funds. According to Jubert, savings achieved through administrative efficiency are being allocated to key areas such as continuing public works and financing plans for productive and industrial sectors with the goal of promoting private employment.
Despite an environment marked by austerity measures, Jubert pointed out Governor Carlos Sadir’s commitment to dialogue. He said that authorities intend to keep collective bargaining tables open in order to find a balance between the state’s financial capacity and salary needs for public employees.
Jubert concluded by saying that current management prioritizes fiscal order while maintaining social peace: “Efficiency in resource management is what allows us to guarantee that every worker keeps their job and that the province does not stop moving forward.”
