The Jueves de Comadres celebration, a key event in the lead-up to the Jujuy carnival, will take place at Casa Macedonio Graz on Thursday, February 12. The gathering is dedicated to women who come together to mark the start of the carnival season.
Casa Macedonio Graz will open its doors at 2 p.m. for an afternoon featuring live music and cultural activities focused on local traditions. The schedule includes performances by Oriana Reyes at 2 p.m., Tupac 7 at 3 p.m., a DJ set at 4 p.m., and Tomás Lipán closing the event at 5 p.m. Entry is free for all attendees.
According to organizers, “The event, organized by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism along with Casa Macedonio Graz, will be held at Lamadrid corner Güemes, in the heart of the capital city.”
Jueves de Comadres is recognized as an important occasion in Jujuy where women gather to celebrate community and tradition before the main carnival festivities begin.
