A new eye tissue donation procedure was carried out at Hospital Pablo Soria in San Salvador de Jujuy, according to a statement from the Ministry of Health. This marks another step forward for the province’s network supporting organ and tissue donation and transplantation.

The process for ocular tissue donation involves sending donated eye tissues to a regional eye bank. There, the tissues undergo studies and evaluations to confirm they are suitable for transplantation. Once approved, their distribution is coordinated based on current needs and assignments.

Officials say this effort is made possible by coordination among healthcare teams, specialized institutions, and a prepared health system that acts with responsibility and professionalism throughout each stage. The Ministry noted that Jujuy continues to contribute to a supportive network, providing opportunities for individuals waiting to regain their vision.

Those interested in learning more about organ and tissue donation can visit the headquarters of the Centro Único Coordinador de Ablación e Implante de Jujuy (CUCAIJUY) at Güemes 1360 in San Salvador de Jujuy, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., or call 4221228.
