The Ministry of Culture and Tourism in Jujuy announced on March 12 a week-long schedule of cultural events taking place across the province from March 12 to March 18. The program includes art exhibitions, literary presentations, traditional festivals, and musical performances.

The agenda aims to offer a mix of contemporary artistic proposals and celebrations that are part of the local calendar. Activities will be held in various locations including San Salvador de Jujuy, Calilegua, Perico, Tilcara, Humahuaca, Barrios (Yavi), and Rinconada.

Highlights include the presentation of the book “Manka Fiesta” at Casa de las Letras and several art exhibitions such as “Experiencia Sensorial Botánica” by Vilma Quiroga at Casa Macedonio Graz. The Centro Cultural Héctor Tizón will host “Tres Generaciones,” featuring works by Carola Nicastro, Florencia Cari, and Liliana Pedraza. In Calilegua, the collective exhibition “Herencia de Mujer” will showcase paintings, crafts, sculptures, and installations by women artists.

Musical events feature tributes like “Sobredosis de Soda” at Centro Cultural Martín Fierro and performances by local groups such as La Yugular and Al Capone in Perico. Traditional festivities include Semana Santa celebrations in Tilcara with the ascent of the Virgin to Abra de Punta Corral sanctuary and the XII Festival de la Zanahoria in Humahuaca.

Workshops on communication skills and dance are also scheduled throughout the week. The program concludes with patronal festivities honoring San José in Barrios (Yavi) and Rinconada on March 18.

The ministry said these activities reflect both contemporary creativity and traditions that sustain Jujuy’s cultural identity.
