The Jujuy Civil Registry will reopen its renovated office in Yavi, according to a March 27 announcement. The modernized facility aims to ensure access to identity rights for more than 25,000 residents of the department and strengthen coverage in an important region.
The reopening follows the closure of the previous office after the retirement of its registry agent. This step is part of a commitment made by Octavio Rivas, provincial director of the agency, and aligns with guidelines from the Government of Jujuy.
“Recuperar esta oficina es garantizar derechos en un punto clave de la provincia. Estamos acercando el servicio a la gente, con mejores condiciones y una mirada federal,” Rivas said.
Rivas also said that this progress was possible due to coordinated work with the Municipal Commission of Yavi, led by Luis Condori.
The opening ceremony is scheduled for Friday, April 3 at 11:00 am.
Yavi has been declared a National Historic Site because of its role in Argentina’s wars for independence. The town is located at an altitude of 3,516 meters above sea level and lies 305 kilometers from San Salvador de Jujuy. It is recognized as part of a historic Andean area known for its connection to the Marquesado de Tojo and its notable heritage and natural value.
