Four new organ donation procedures have recently been carried out in Jujuy, according to the province’s Ministry of Health. One of these was a multi-organ procedure. With these latest operations, Jujuy has reached a total of six organ donation procedures in the first weeks of 2026, expanding transplant opportunities for patients on waiting lists across Argentina.
The Ministry highlighted the role of families and healthcare teams in making these donations possible. “Each donation is an act of generosity that becomes hope. Thanks to the commitment of families and the coordinated work of health teams, it is possible to offer new possibilities for recovery and a better quality of life to those facing complex health situations,” stated officials.
The process begins when medical teams identify a potential donor and provide support to their family. Medical evaluations then determine whether donation is viable and if there are compatible recipients. The process requires time, precision, coordination, and collaboration between various institutions, following strict protocols for safety and quality.
Current national legislation and ongoing public health policies in Jujuy ensure that organ donation processes are conducted with fairness, transparency, and high standards. This framework helps guarantee that donated organs reach those most in need.
