The province of Jujuy has carried out three new organ and tissue donation procedures in recent days, according to local health authorities. These operations took place at Hospital Pablo Soria and Hospital San Roque. The procedures included one multi-organ donation and two tissue donations, offering hope to patients currently on transplant waiting lists.

With these latest interventions, Jujuy has reached a total of 79 organ and tissue procurement procedures so far this year. This figure highlights both the healthcare system’s capacity and the ongoing commitment from the community to support organ donation.

Health officials noted that each operation is made possible by a combination of individual decisions to donate and coordinated efforts among medical teams. “The removal of organs and tissues is carried out following strict protocols and requires coordination between specialized professionals, public and private hospitals, the federal health system, and the Single Coordinator Center for Ablation and Implantation of Jujuy (CUCAIJUY), which is responsible for organizing and ensuring each process,” stated representatives involved in the program.

Ongoing awareness campaigns within the community are seen as key factors in making these donations possible. Health authorities emphasized that every person who chooses to donate increases recovery opportunities for children, youth, and adults facing serious health conditions.

As part of its annual review, CUCAIJUY recently led a meeting at Hospital Pablo Soria with healthcare teams from across the province. During this event, participants discussed progress made during 2025, challenges ahead, and strategic priorities aligned with the Federal Strategic Plan for Donation and Transplantation 2026–2028. Professionals from both public hospitals and private institutions shared their experiences from projects developed throughout the year. The Procurement Units and Transplant Units highlighted positive results achieved through collaboration between public systems, private sectors, and other organizations.

Those interested in learning more about organ donation can visit CUCAIJUY at Güemes 1360 in San Salvador de Jujuy from Monday to Friday between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m., or call 4221228.

“Donating organs is an act of solidarity that saves lives. Getting informed is also part of care,” said program representatives.
