This week, cultural centers and historic venues across Jujuy province are offering a range of activities from November 19 to 25. The programming includes art exhibitions, workshops, lectures, and literary events.
At Centro Cultural Culturarte, located at San Martín and Sarmiento, visitors can view the temporary exhibition “Topografías” by architect Juan Boscariol until December 12. On Thursday, November 20 at 9:30 a.m., historian Carlos Garces will lead a free talk titled “Las Fuentes grabadas del Arte Colonial,” focusing on the Cuzco School series of Santa Rosa de Lima in Purmamarca. On Tuesday, November 25, the center will host the National and International Meeting of Writers for Peace from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., which is open to students, researchers, and the general public.
The Centro Cultural y Museo Casa Macedonio Graz on Lamadrid and Güemes opens in two shifts daily. Until December 2, it features Paula Guarini’s painting exhibition “Corazón de Ayahuasca.” On Wednesday, November 19, Belén García Goyena will conduct a paid workshop for journalists called “Concientización.” Thursday’s program includes a ceramics workshop by Flora Párraga at 3:00 p.m. (registration required) and a free poetry recital at 8:00 p.m. with Alejandro Carrizo, Mercedes Burgos, and Esther Pagano. The ceramics workshop returns on Tuesday along with another training session titled “Conocerteactivo.”
C.A.J.A., the Centro de Arte Joven Andino at Alvear 534, hosts the group photography show “Llaqta Foto” through December 8 with free admission. On Wednesday afternoon into evening (November 19), it presents the eighth Argentine Literature Conference focused on memory and violence studies in partnership with UNJu’s Faculty of Humanities. On Tuesday evening (November 25), there will be an open house featuring Christian literature as part of the “Una Luz en el Camino” program.
Casa de las Letras on Belgrano Street offers extended hours throughout the week. Wednesday marks the closing of an arts education exhibit and includes a book presentation by Jorge Eduardo Topp at 7:00 p.m. Thursday’s schedule features three activities: a Quechua language workshop led by Kusi Killa (registration required), simultaneous children’s painting classes by Nayla Ramírez (registration required), and Matilde Almada’s free reading event “El sabor de leer.” The week ends with Elsa Tapia’s carnival music workshop on Tuesday evening.
Sala Silvetti at Canónigo Gorriti 295 is presenting Jorge Jamarlli’s exhibition “Evanescencia” until December 19 with free entry each evening from 7:30 p.m.
