Two new vehicles have been added to the public health system in Jujuy as part of the Itinerancias strategy, aimed at improving transportation for medical professionals working in rural areas. The announcement was made by Governor Carlos Sadir and Health Minister Gustavo Bouhid during a ceremony held in Ciudad Cultural.
According to Bouhid, “We are delivering two brand-new units for the work of Itinerancias, which allows our doctors and health personnel to reach remote areas, bringing the system closer to people so that rural communities and regional hospitals can receive different specialties such as ophthalmology, cardiology, traumatology, pediatrics, among others.” He also emphasized the government’s ongoing commitment: “While ensuring the safety of teams during travel, we once again demonstrate the commitment to public health made by the Government of Jujuy under Governor Sadir’s leadership.”
Bouhid also announced plans to add seven more vehicles to SAME 107 soon. He noted that “the emergency network has been designed with increasing complexity from peripheral areas toward central locations, from La Quiaca to every corner of the province. In the case of the base in Ciudad Cultural—SAME’s 38th care unit—it plays a strategic role in responding to accidents on the highway leading to and from Quebrada de Humahuaca.”
He added that “during daytime hours this base functions almost like a health post for necessary assistance to residents of Alto Padilla, for Ciudad de las Artes, and due to constant activity at Ciudad Cultural with physical activities, sports events, and music gatherings.”
Additionally, new digital X-ray equipment is now operational in the emergency departments at Hospital Snopek and Centro de Especialidades Norte (CEN). Bouhid highlighted this latest upgrade: “As of this Friday, new digital X-ray equipment is operating in the emergency rooms at Hospital Snopek and CEN.”
