The Jujuy provincial government announced on March 31 that the payment schedule for public sector employees’ salaries, corresponding to March, will begin on Wednesday, April 1. The second day of payments is set for Thursday, April 2.

The initial groups to receive their salaries include Malvinas war veterans, the Provincial Police, Penitentiary Service personnel, autonomous agencies, municipal workers, central administration staff, and employees from the Ministry of Health and Ministry of Human Development. Teachers at all educational levels—initial, primary, secondary, and higher—are also included in this first round.

Subsequent payments will be made to staff from decentralized organizations as well as members of the Judicial Branch, Legislative Branch, General Audit Office and officials.

According to the provincial government statement, “the salaries will include a four percent increase as part of collective bargaining agreements reached with state unions.”

This salary increase follows negotiations between the government and union representatives regarding wage adjustments for public sector workers. The phased payment approach aims to ensure an orderly process across various departments and branches within Jujuy’s administration.
