The Ministry of Health of Jujuy announced on Apr. 13 that registration for the Provincial System of Health Sciences Residencies will take place from May 4 to May 15, offering positions in 28 specialties across five training centers.

The annual call is important for young professionals seeking postgraduate training and is seen as a key step in strengthening the public health system. This year, there are a total of 82 available positions distributed among several hospitals and departments.

According to the announcement, the residency program provides intensive and progressive on-the-job training under professional supervision, with annual renewal and exclusive dedication required. The number of available spots is determined each year based on healthcare needs and human resource requirements.

Applicants must be graduates of university programs related to health sciences. The selection process includes an objective evaluation through exams and review of academic backgrounds. After passing these stages, candidates sign a full-time personal training agreement.

Specialties offered include pediatric intensive care, neonatal nursing, obstetrics-gynecology, pediatrics, general surgery at Hospital Materno Infantil; internal medicine, anesthesiology, pathology anatomy at Hospital Pablo Soria; family medicine at Hospital San Roque; psychiatry and psychology at Hospital Dr. Néstor Sequeiros; as well as food biochemistry at SUNIBROM Department.

Key dates in the admission process are: publication of available spots on April 7; in-person registration from May 4 to May 15; provincial exam on July 1; publication of exam results on July 6; ranking lists by discipline published July 13; specialty selection from July 20 to July 24; assignment of positions from July 27 to July 31; psychophysical examination during August; with activities beginning September 1.

Requirements include Argentine nationality (by birth or naturalization), specific time limits since graduation depending on specialty type (five years for basic residencies or nine years for post-basic), original documentation including degree certificates or proof thereof if pending validation for foreign degrees, transcripts showing grade averages including failures, police records updated within six months or national criminal background checks, sworn employment declaration, curriculum vitae with supporting documents relevant to the chosen specialty. Documentation must be certified upon submission but can be presented by a family member if accompanied by originals—no incomplete applications will be accepted.
