The Ministry of Health of Jujuy announced on March 11 that residents must schedule an appointment by calling the Health Call Center at 0800-777-7711, Monday to Friday from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m., in order to complete the required annual health check and obtain the official Carnet Sanitario.

The Carnet Sanitario is a mandatory document for academic and work activities in both public and private sectors within the province. It is considered essential for early detection of risk factors and various diseases, as well as for ensuring proper follow-up and treatment.

The health check includes laboratory tests for sexually transmitted infections, blood glucose screening for metabolic diseases such as diabetes, prostate cancer screening (PSA) for men over 50, Chagas testing for first-time applicants without prior history, HIV testing with consent, Pap smear exams, clinical examinations, and audiometry when required. Special requirements apply to drivers, teachers, and teaching students.

Appointments can be made by phone or online through the website http://salud.jujuy.gob.ar/ using the “Carnet Sanitario” button. This redirects users to the TU JUJUY platform where they can select a date and pay electronically via debit, credit card, or QR code. The checks are conducted Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Centro de Especialidades Norte (CEN) in Jujuy’s capital city or at designated hospitals across several towns including Palpalá, El Carmen, Perico, Monterrico, Libertador, San Pedro, El Talar, La Mendieta, La Esperanza, Yuto, Fraile Pintado, Calilegua, Abra Pampa, La Quiaca, Maimará and Susques.

On the day of their appointment individuals must arrive ten minutes early with their national ID (DNI), proof of payment if paid electronically or be prepared to pay on site. Additional documents may be required such as recent Pap test results or certificates related to pre-existing conditions. After registration and digital photo capture participants proceed through laboratory tests and medical consultations relevant to their case.

Within 72 hours after completing the checkup individuals can download their digital Carnet Sanitario by visiting https://salud.jujuy.gob.ar/, clicking on “Carnet Sanitario. Verificación e impresión,” entering their DNI number along with a code provided during their visit.
