The Ministry of Health of Jujuy announced on May 18 that the province took part in the recent Health Congress of the Paraguayan Chaco, where Augusto Ittig, a specialist in Digital Health and telemedicine, was an invited panelist. Ittig joined the panel “Health on the Bioceanic Route: integration, innovation and regional cooperation” alongside professionals and researchers from Argentina, Brazil, the United States, and Paraguay.
During his presentation, Ittig outlined initiatives developed within Jujuy’s public health system that provide community access to virtual consultations. He described how telemedicine is used across various specialties in daily practice and said it has had a positive impact by strengthening health equity, expanding coverage to remote areas, and reducing response times.
Ittig also said there will be ongoing collaborative work in healthcare as part of efforts toward regional integration along the Bioceanic Corridor.
The Health Congress of the Paraguayan Chaco was organized by Universidad Evangélica del Paraguay together with Filadelfia Hospital and Loma Plata Hospital. The event took place from April 22 to April 25 in Loma Plata, Paraguay.
