Jujuy participated in the National Meeting on Agricultural Education held on December 3 at the Buenos Aires Grain Exchange. The event was organized by the National Secretariat of Education, together with the Secretariat of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries, and the National Institute of Technological Education (INET).
The provincial delegation was led by Miriam Serrano, Minister of Education. She was joined by MarĆa Eugenia Torramorel, Director of Technical Professional Education (DETP); Jaime Carrizo from DETPās technical team; and school directors Beatriz Carolina Tambo (Provincial Agrotechnical School No. 8 of Abra Pampa) and Rosa Liliana Tapia (Provincial Agrotechnical School No. 4 āNelly Arrietaā of Ledesma).
The meeting included conferences and discussions focused on strengthening technical agricultural education and its connection to national productive and scientific-technological development.
Minister Serrano took part in a working group with other ministers of Education and Production/Agriculture, national authorities, legislators, international organizations, and representatives from educational institutions. Two main topics were addressed: analyzing the relationship between agrotechnical schools and the productive, community, and technological sectorsāalong with challenges for regional developmentāand building federal strategies linking education, production, and agricultural sector actors.
According to organizers, expected outcomes from this dialogue include defining interministerial and interprovincial policy strategies, identifying priority actions for 2026ā2027, establishing new cooperation commitments among education, production sectors and organizations, as well as developing a joint work agenda.
Specialists from the Inter-American Development Bank, Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture (IICA), INTA (National Agricultural Technology Institute), and other international bodies gave presentations during the event.
“The province of Jujuy reaffirms its commitment to strengthening technical professional education, training linked to productive development, and building educational policies aimed at growth in the agricultural sector,” said officials.
