The Ministry of Health in Jujuy has announced an intensive plan to remove unused items that can collect water in various neighborhoods of the capital from February 23 to 27. This effort is part of the province’s strategy to prevent dengue, zika, and chikungunya.
Health teams will work together with local primary care centers and residents. The activities include community outreach before the operation, house-to-house visits, removal of items that could become mosquito breeding grounds, and direct guidance for families on everyday prevention measures. These efforts are meant to support a year-round approach to disease prevention.
The program is coordinated with ongoing monitoring by the health network, targeted planning, and cooperation between health centers, hospitals, and neighborhood organizations.
The weekly schedule for the removal campaign starts at 8:30 a.m. each day:
– Monday, February 23: CAPS Islas Malvinas area – El Arenal, Viviendas UTA neighborhoods and nearby sectors
– Tuesday, February 24: CAPS 820 Viviendas area – 13 de Julio neighborhood
– Wednesday, February 25: CIC Copacabana area – Las Colinas, Copacabana, and Industrial neighborhoods
– Thursday, February 26: Hospital Snopek area – Remanente 1 and 2 sectors of Alto Comedero
– Friday, February 27: CAPS Mariano Moreno area – Cerro Las Rosas
