Jujuy launches second phase of CAF-funded school improvement project

The Ministry of Education of Jujuy has started the bidding process for the second phase of projects financed by the Development Bank of Latin America and the Caribbean (CAF), under the Program to Improve Access and Quality in Education (PROMACE).

On November 12, 2025, at 10:00 a.m., an event was held at the Ministerial Complex to open bids for International Public Tender No. 2-2025. This tender is one of the most anticipated of the year and aims to build and improve educational facilities in several locations across Jujuy province. The projects include a new primary and early childhood school in Monterrico, Kindergarten No. 5 in Perico, School for Support Configurations No. 6 ā€œVicente Arroyabeā€ in Perico, Secondary School No. 40, and School No. 288 ā€œSan Juan de Diosā€ in San Pedro.

The event was led by Miriam Serrano, Minister of Education, who was joined by MatĆ­as Torcivia, Secretary of Infrastructure; Eugenia MartĆ­nez Alvarado, Secretary of Strategic Programs and Projects; Mariana BrandĆ”n, General Director for CAF; JosĆ© Palomares, Deputy Director of Works; members from the State Attorney’s Office legal team; directors from beneficiary schools; and representatives from bidding companies.

Fifteen companies submitted proposals to carry out these construction works: City Constructora SRL, Cultivar SRL, Sidera SRL, Juan Pedro Garƭn Construcciones S.A., Consar S.A., Villanueva e Hijos S.A., Urbania SRL, Geco Constructora SRL, Bloke SRL, Vapeu SRL, Emprendimiento Rƭo Grande SRL, El TrƩbol SRL, Alpre S.A., E.M.R. Ingenierƭa y GutiƩrrez Construcciones.

With this step completed, the tendering process now moves into technical and economic evaluation according to current regulations.

Miriam Serrano stated: “In this way, the Ministry of Education reaffirms its commitment to transparency in management, strengthening school infrastructure and building modern educational spaces that are inclusive and accessible to support community development throughout the province.”
