Deputy Santiago Jubert, president of the Frente Jujuy Crece bloc in the Legislature, said on April 5 that Decree Agreement No. 5084 was designed by the Executive to balance public accounts and establish a framework for controlling public spending while ensuring job stability and the well-being of state workers.
Jubert said this measure is different from what he called “ruthless and irrational” austerity elsewhere, emphasizing that “in our province there have been no layoffs.” He added that the provincial government relies on efficient management of its own resources, which allows savings to be directly invested for the benefit of Jujuy residents.
The legislator explained that the decree serves as a tool to redirect funds toward key areas for structural growth. He pointed out ongoing public works projects aimed at improving connectivity and citizen services. Jubert also mentioned economic incentives through financing plans targeted at productive and industrial sectors to promote genuine private employment.
Despite an environment marked by austerity, Jubert said Governor Carlos Sadir’s administration has maintained ongoing dialogue with unions. “The objective is to keep collective bargaining tables open in order to agree on salary improvements that match current economic difficulties,” he said. Jubert stated these negotiations will continue seeking a balance between state finances and workers’ needs.
He concluded by saying, “Efficiency in resource management allows us to guarantee each worker keeps their job while ensuring continued progress in works and services.” According to Jubert, efforts are focused on consolidating a management model prioritizing fiscal order without neglecting social peace or productive development.
